Completed Development

Boarding Houses
Major review and upgrading of the boarding accommodation at the school to meet or exceed the guidelines in the latest National Boarding Standards. Two new state of the art boarding houses have been constructed and the remaining houses have been fully refurbished so that all boarders now enjoy: 

  • Friendly, individually designed dormitories
  • Single study bedrooms for all senior pupils
  • Unrivalled privacy and personal space
  • Attractive and centrally located kitchen facilities providing an informal social focus  for each year group
  • Range of study and relaxation facilities
  • Upgraded IT facilities throughout, including internet access for all pupils



Future Developments

Academic
Major rationalisation and upgrading of the academic accommodation at the school to provide improved faculty structure in line with the latest educational thinking. Departments will be reorganised and expanded to meet the full range of national curriculum requirements and improve the resources available to meet public examination syllabus requirements.  

A brand new Mathematics Department has been finished in the Morey Building.

New English and Theology Departments are also open and in use.

  • Further proposals include an upgraded Geography Department with a new resource area;Modern Languages to be refurbished;Additional Classics teaching space ; Upgraded IT facilities throughout, including new interactive white boards and a new creative IT  suite.

Art
The stunning new Art & Design Department is open. This includes enlarged studio space; a new photographic and film studio; two new gallery areas, show casing 2D and 3D work ; improved and extended sculpture garden linked to new glazed entrance and gallery space; a new pottery studio.

Music Proposal
New, enlarged music department building on the recent musical success of the school, to include: Additional practice rooms; New music library ; Enhanced teaching space and new professional standard performance and recital studio. 

All the developments have been designed and managed by our architects, Gerry Lytle Associates, who are specialists in school buildings and have become fully involved in the life of the school.
