Cricket

The cricketing facilities at The Oratory School are second to none and, on a sunny day, the 1st XI pitch and outfield must be one of the prettiest grounds anywhere for both players and spectators. Situated on top of the Chilterns with a view over the Thames valley, as far as the eye can see, it must rank as one of the premier cricketing spots in the country. We have 6 excellently maintained cricket squares at the school; the most recent addition being the St Philip House pitch.

New appointments to the school will further strengthen our coaching potential and, wherever possible, pupils are encouraged to play with a positive mental attitude and a will to succeed. We usually have competitive block fixtures with St Edwards Oxford, Magdalen College School, Abingdon, Bradfield, Eton, Harrow, Reeds School, and Lord Wandsworth College plus our usual 1st XI fixture against the MCC. The cricket season is a busy one with outside schools coming in to use the facilities.
