Pupils attended an inspirational talk last night at Henley Literary Festival from Stuart Lawrence on his book Silence is not an option.
Stuart is the brother of Stephen Lawrence whose murder in 1993 led to the MacPherson report which declared the Met police to be institutionally racist. In his book, Stuart reflects on his brother’s life and murder and describes the tools he has used to help him live positively.
Written for younger readers (aged 10+), the book aims to help them find their own voice and work towards a better future.
Stuart Lawrence’s talk focused on how young people can help change the world in which we live.
Great advice was given to young people wanting to advocate change.
