This year’s guest speaker is James Shone, founder of I Can & I Am, a charity with a passion to inspire confidence and to ‘inflate balloons of self-belief’. James Shone is an inspirational educational speaker who visits hundreds of schools and businesses every year speaking to educators, parents, pupils and employees. He is a friend and a former colleague of the Head Master.
About James Shone’s talk:
Many young people leave school with a developed sense of “I can’t” and “I am no good.” James Shone helps pupils understand how best to respond to set backs, anxiety and a general lack of self-esteem. He gives invaluable advice on how to navigate the challenges that might be faced as teenagers. He seeks to encourage pupils to focus on what they’re good at rather than on what they’re not. His core messages are all about how to inflate their ‘balloons of self-belief’.
James’ passion is for us all to recognise that education is about the whole individual and not just academic performance.
