6th Form historians visit the Houses of Parliament

On Monday 30th September, 6th Form historians travelled to London to visit the Houses of Parliament as part of their study of Stuart Britain and to widen their historical understanding of Parliament.

After a walk down Whitehall and past Downing Street we came to Parliament Square. Pupils were shown the stairs of important historical figures such as Canning, Lincoln, Peel, Gandhi, Mandela, Lloyd-George, Palmerston, Disraeli, and Churchill.

We then went on to Westminster Hall and round the Palace of Westminster with our guide. The boys were fully engaged in the tour which introduced them to the history and traditions of the Houses of Parliament.
