“It is my pleasure to introduce you to the Sixth Form at The Oratory School. We are aroud of the education we provide at this key stage in school life and are committed to giving the best and most personal help to each and every boy in our care. There is a wealth of experienced help at hand to guide you through these years.
There are many questions to be asked and answered as you set out on your journey through the Sixth Form:
Which subjects should I study?
What skills will I develop?
Should I be thinking about universities yet?
What degree course and career should I be considering?
We offer a comprehensive range of academic subjects and co-curricular activities, within a framework of excellent pastoral support, helping our boys to learn the skills that are vital for success in the world today. These two years in the Sixth Form are the most challenging, rewarding and exciting so far: let us help you to make the very best of them.”
Stephen Burrows – Head of Sixth Form
We are a school that prides itself on developing our boys in mind, body and soul. First and foremost, though, is our commitment to enable every pupil to realise his full potential, through the provision of a wide curricular offering, delivered by inspiring teachers.
There has been recent nationwide reform of the A Level curriculum, involving the removal of the need to take AS examinations in Lower Sixth. The majority of pupils will study three A Level subjects, with examinations taking place in the Trinity Term of the Upper Sixth.
In addition to A Level courses, we provide a range of additional options to enhance and enrich the academic offering for our pupils, including:
The range of subjects on offer at The Oratory is broad and aims to prepare pupils for their future. Further information on the courses we offer is contained in the A Level options section.

We place academic development at the centre of school life, but believe that education needs to be rich and diverse, offering wide-ranging opportunities. This is achieved by means of a comprehensive programme, including:
Our co-curricular programme is designed to broaden the emotional, spiritual, cultural, moral, linguistic, physical and creative aspects of our Sixth Form boys. From the large variety of physical and artistic opportunities to a packed calendar of sporting and cultural activities, not a day goes by without an exciting opportunity for our boys to develop and grow outside of the classroom.
The Oratory offers an enviable range of co-curricular clubs and activities; we very much value an all-round approach to the education we offer. We encourage boys to get involved with as much as they can, to learn new skills and challenge themselves in order to develop their talents and interests.
