The Oratory’s Whole School Charity Day raises over £2k
The Oratory’s Whole School Charity Day on Friday 16 October saw fantastic levels of participation, over £2,414 raised for Cardiac Risk in the Young and Henley-based charity Special Kidz International, and our target distances smashed!
25 swimmers swam a total of 1,766 lengths or 27.6 miles, more than the length of the channel crossing. Special mention to Max who swam 200 lengths of the pool.
The run saw more than 300 pupils and staff cover a course of 1.5k with over 40 individuals completing 4 or more laps. Over 900 miles were run - so as a school community, we ran/ walked to Rome! Special mention to Caspar who ran 10 laps.
The row saw the whole school pull together and complete around 350 kms. Special mention to Oliver, for exceeding 10 kms by himself.
House points were awarded for both total distance by house and highest average raised per student in the house. St John House took an early lead followed by Norris and then FitzAlan, with Wootten in 4th place.
Marcus Fec, Assistant Head (Co-Curricular and Partnerships) says, “I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone that took part in the events, staff, and all those who have helped their children gain sponsorship.”
