The cricketing facilities at The Oratory School are second to none and on a sunny day the 1st XI pitch and outfield must be one of the prettiest grounds anywhere for both players and spectators. For the 2nd year in a row the pitch has been voted by The Cricketer magazine as one of the top 100 pitches in the Country.
We have six excellently maintained cricket squares at the school; the most recent addition being the St Philip House pitch. In 2016 we played host to various County junior matches as well as hosting several National Schools T20 matches.
The fixture card includes block fixtures with St Edwards Oxford, Magdalen College School, Abingdon, Bradfield, Eton, Reeds School, and Lord Wandsworth College plus our usual 1st XI fixture against the MCC. The 1st XI enters the HMC National T20 competition (in 2017 the first round will be played on Sunday 23rd April) as well as play host to the Catholic Cup T10 competition, which was won by Ratcliffe College last year. The School has excellent links with local clubs and we host weekly sessions for Peppard Stoke Row and Kidmore End, as well as hosting a Club T10 competition at the end of June (2017 date is Sunday 25th June)
The Old Oratorian match will take place on OO DAY on Saturday 24th June 2017. In 2016 we hosted 3 touring sides (2 from South Africa and one from Australia) – the touring sides are yet to be confirmed for 2017 but we will certainly look at hosting 2/3.
The Cricket Club tours every 2 years to Barbados – the most recent being Christmas 2014. The tour report can be found by clicking here.
The Oratory will be running Winter Coaching Camps run by Dan Housego – September to December and January to April. Please email Dan – email@example.com
