EAL - English as an Additional Language for University Entrance
We have a strong EAL Department to help support our international pupils who do not have English as their first language. They give pupils intensive English language support and help them adjust to life in England. The EAL department offers timetabled lessons from Third Form to Upper Sixth and follows an accredited examination pathway.
The Third Form follow PET (Preliminary English) and the Fourth Form FCE (First Certificate English). Although public examinations in these qualifications are not mandatory, we can arrange examinations at parental request. The Fifth Form prepare for IGCSE Second Language English, and the Sixth Form for IELTS (the International English Language Testing System), favoured by UK and international universities.
