I Am Known: I Am More

Inaugural International Women’s Day Breakfast 2024

The theme for International Women's Day this year is ‘Inspire Inclusion’ and parents, students and staff (male and female) joined together in this celebration to hear the reigning Ladies Real Tennis World Champion, Claire Fahey, speak on her inspiring journey in a male dominated sport.

The lengths she has gone to be included in and to change rules and attitudes in the Real Tennis community are remarkable and The Oratory students began to understand what it takes for a woman to become top in any field, where the natural tendencies are for men to dominate.

Mrs Fahey’s journey began at an early age from playing Real Tennis at the age of 11 to becoming the youngest World Champion at age 19, to now winning over 40 titles in Britain, France, Australia and the United States.

The Oratory is immensely proud to have Mrs Fahey as Head of Oratory Racquets, where she leads and inspires all students at the school to excel in their academic and sporting endeavours.

The school was delighted to host its first International Women's Day breakfast together with the Friends of the Oratory School (FOS).

We wish all our Oratory family a Happy International Women’s Day 2024.
