The Oratory Rugby Club annual tour to Ireland was back for the school’s first overseas trip since lockdown.
Both the Yearlings and Seniors travelled for a memorable weekend which saw the group visit Croke Park Stadium, home of the GAA. Here we learnt about the important place the stadium holds in Irish culture and history.
The boys were also lucky enough to watch Ireland Women defeat Japan Women at the RDS arena in a hotly contested match which saw Ireland play for almost an hour with 14 players. Not forgetting the boys rugby, the seniors continued their good form with a victory over Presentation College in Bray on the Friday night under lights whilst the Yearlings performed well to beat Cistercian College in Roscea.
The latter was particularly poignant as it allowed the schools to honour the memory of Mr. Gary Halpin, the Ireland international, who had worked at both school and sadly passed away earlier this year.
