Old Oratorians Shooting Success

Well done to the Old Oratorians who achieved success in the Public School Veterans match at the 150th Imperial Meeting at Bisley in July.

The following members of the Oratory Cardinals Rifle Club took part: Charlie Dart (OS 12-17), Tom Shaw (OS 10-17), Peter Inwood (OS 01-08), Oscar Clark (OS 12-17), Josh Minien (OS 07-12), Henry Gilbert (OS 03-08), Chris Mitchell (OS 03-08), Will Woodward (OS 07-12), Tom Eggar (OS 07-11), Alex Davies (OS 00-07), Tobyn Nicholls (OS 09-16), George Stanford-Beale (OS 10-17), Jamie Stanford-Beale (OS 07-12), Nick Davies (OS 00-05), Cameron Gray (OS 08-15) and Yew Wen Thorne (OS 09-16).

Highlights included Tom Shaw who achieved his first Highest Possible Score (75 ex 75) and made it in on to the Grand Aggregate Board after the first day, placing 22nd out of over 850 competitors representing over 15 countries; and Chris Mitchell who won the Gurkha Appeal and the 1st Stage of St Georges.

Congratulations to Charlie Dart who was selected to shoot for Ireland in The National, The Mackinnon and the U25s and to Chris Mitchell who was selected to shoot for England in the victorious National team as well as captaining Berkshire in the inter-counties matches.

Tom Shaw and Henry Gilbert also made in to the Second Stage of HM the Queen’s prize.

The season is not yet over for the Cardinals with Chris Mitchell heading to Canada to shoot for England and a match against Old Wellingtonians in September.
