Thames Ditton Regatta once again basked in sunshine as the Boat Club set the early regatta pace. Our crews all produced fantastic efforts and several of the performances will be noted by the competition. The U15 Eight challenged a strong Radley crew all the way to the finish in their first regatta race together. They return keen to improve the performance. The U18 A coxed four narrowly lost to St Georges School (the eventual finalists), in a race that ended just half a length apart. Charlie Wainhouse coxed his first regatta brilliantly in both the U15 Eight and the U18 B coxed four, the later lost narrowly to strong opposition from UCL!
The 1st VIII shone in the Royal setting just below Hampton Court. London 2012 Olympic Coach Rob Morgan has recently coached with Mr Burton and the crew have develop their speed. In their first regatta race they beat UCL, St Georges School and two Canford School Eights. Only Radley led us on time and we beat a strong Quintin Boat Club crew to win the B final.
Starting on Friday and ending on Sunday the Boat Club take on the National Schools Regatta at Eton’s Dorney Lake. We have competitive crews representing all age groups and wish them all the best.
