A Day of Celebration

6 July 2017

The school year ended on Saturday 1st July. The day started with Prizegiving and Speech Day in the marquee, the guest of honour for which was Michael Lynagh, former Australia rugby player and Word Cup Winner.

After the celebrations the Upper 6th leavers and their families had lunch and the rest of the school canapes and Pimm’s in Houses. The evening started with Benediction in the school Chapel, after which the Head Master made presentations of gifts to the leavers and the leavers’ photo was taken.

Then it was time to party: Charlie Dart piped guests into the marquee for the leavers’ dinner which was great fun, the highlight probably the singing policemen (the Head Master’s air guitar another highlight). As the evening came to an end the guests made their way out on the cricket pitch to watch a wonderful firework display: a moving end to a stunning day.
