An Oratory education is an education for life

The Oratory has been providing students with a broad and rich education for over 165 years. Situated on a stunning 100-acre Oxfordshire countryside estate, we combine strong academic results with a supportive family ethos. We are genuinely an all-round school and we believe in nurturing students to achieve their very best in whatever it is they set out to do.

‘I am known: I am more’ highlights The Oratory’s holistic, all-round approach to education. An Oratory education focuses on the whole student, seeing them as they are, ‘wonderfully made’, and seeks to draw out and develop each student's innate gifts, skills and talents, which we believe each of them has in abundance, be they academic, sporting, artistic, dramatic or inter-personal.

The Oratory deliberately remains a small school, with small class sizes, outstanding pastoral care, and a wonderful sense of community. It is this supportive environment that allows us to focus and develop each of our students and which nurtures the confidence, self-expression and resilience that is vital for success and happiness in the world today.

Discover The Oratory

We know that choosing the right school for your child can often be confusing and time consuming, so we try to make the process here at The Oratory as enjoyable and straightforward as possible.

    Day & Boarding Life

The Oratory is a vibrant day and boarding community. We call ourselves a family and we mean it. The warmth and support of the school enables pupils to develop strong self-belief and resilience that will remain with them throughout their life.

    Catholic Life

The Catholic Faith and the two chapels are central to the school’s life, ethos and identity. Newman’s vision of an education for the whole person through individual care has always involved mind, body, and soul.

    Co-Curricular Opportunities

A wide array of co-curricular opportunities allows each individual to find an arena in which they can flourish and excel. The joy and confidence that success brings leads to greater determination and resilience when facing challenges in the classroom and in life.
