Oratory Pupils receive Coaching Session at Lord's with The Ruth Strauss Foundation

Oratory pupils were recently rewarded with a coaching session at Lord’s with former England cricketers Steven Finn and Angus Fraser MBE of The Ruth Strauss Foundation.
This event was gifted to The Oratory School after being named as the school with the biggest fundraising initiative for The Ruth Strauss Foundation’s ‘Turn Cricket Red 2024’. Funds were raised through a summer Charity Lunch and Shopping Event on the school’s grounds, which featured a speech from Angus, and a superb fundraising tally of £4,843.
Following the success of last year, The Oratory will once again be hosting its Red for Ruth Summer Lunch & Charity Event on Wednesday 25 June. The day will feature over 20 stalls, a delicious 2-course lunch and a backdrop of cricket fixtures across The Oratory’s 100 acre Oxfordshire countryside estate.
Steve Tomlinson, Director of Sport, says, “The session at Lord’s provided a great opportunity for Oratory pupils to be coached by two former men's cricket test players and they all came away with new skills for the season. We now look forward to our continued support for the charity, specifically our next ‘Red for Ruth’ event on Wednesday 25 June, when we play The MCC.”
Limited tickets for The Oratory’s ‘Red for Ruth’ Summer Lunch & Charity Event are still available at £50 per person. To book, please email reservations@oratory.co.uk
