A Level Oratory Chemistry pupils awarded certificates in the University of Cambridge Chemistry Challenge

Congratulations to five* of our Oratory Chemistry A Level pupils on their outstanding performance in the University of Cambridge Chemistry Challenge. Well done Alex, Come, Eugene, Yoonho and Yuvraj!

Out of 15,000 pupils, Yoonho and Yuvraj have placed in the top 10%, with Yoonho receiving the prestigious Roentgenium certificate for being within the Top 75 pupils. The Roentgenium award is the highest accolade in the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge and is awarded to the top 0.5% of students who complete the competition and who achieve the highest scores. It is a testament to their exceptional chemistry knowledge and problem-solving skills. The Roentgenium award is accompanied by an invitation to a weekend camp at the University of Cambridge, where pupils can engage in practicals and exercises in the chemistry department. This opportunity allows them to further their education and experience in the field of chemistry.

The Cambridge Chemistry Challenge is for UK pupils in Year 12 or below. The pupils take a written Chemistry exam featuring advanced problem-solving questions that aim to stretch and inspire them into higher chemistry studies.

*only two pupils are pictured due to music and further maths lesson commitments, which has made a group photo tricky in the run-up to the end of term!
