On Wednesday 28 June, The Oratory marked its inaugural Red for Ruth Day, in support of the Ruth Strauss Foundation, with a 1st XI cricket match vs The MCC, Marylebone Cricket Club.

The event was a huge success with over £1k raised in funds. The cricket pavilion turned red for the day and Oratory and MCC players wore red caps. There was also an exciting boundary rope competition and a BBQ to round off the day.

The Ruth Strauss Foundation is founded by Sir Andrew Strauss, in memory of his late wife Ruth Strauss who died from an incurable lung cancer that affects non-smokers. The charity provides emotional support for families to prepare for the death of a parent and helps raise awareness of the need for more research and collaboration in the fight against non-smoking lung cancers.
