Big Sleepout at The Oratory School for World Homeless Day

This weekend, 14 of our 5th Form pupils, the Head Master and Mr Fec (Assistant Head Co-curricular and Partnerships) completed a Sleepout at The Oratory Cricket pavilion to mark World Homeless Day and raise money for Launchpad, a Reading-based charity that helps the homeless and those at risk of homelessness.

Sleeping on top of cardboard or roll mats on the patio of the cricket pavilion, and with a low of 7 degrees celsius, the group also had to compete with the sound of deer barking, bats and the school's sprinkler system!

Mr Fec says, "Well done to all the pupils involved in your efforts. It was really great to see such a mix of pupils, day and boarding, UK and overseas, boys and girls taking part. We have currently raised over £1,000, which is a fantastic amount to have achieved. Thank you to all those who have donated, and also to those who helped in organising, supplying and supporting this event - your help was very much appreciated."

Fiona Keyte, Fundraising Manager at Launchpad says, "A massive well done to everyone who took part - you've all raised an incredible amount, and we're so grateful!"

There is still time to donate if you would like to, via the link below:
