    Oratory Rugby Dublin Tour

The Oratory Rugby Club recently travelled to Dublin for a short but memorable tour that combined sport and sightseeing.

The trip gave the players the chance to test themselves against top Irish opposition and to explore one of Europe’s most historic cities.

The main fixture of the tour was against St Michael’s College, a school well known for its rugby pedigree. The match proved to be a close and competitive contest, with both sides playing fast, open rugby. The Oratory boys showed great effort and teamwork throughout, eventually losing narrowly 29–26. Although disappointed by the result, the team could take real positives from their performance and the experience of playing such strong opponents.

Away from the rugby field, the group enjoyed a varied programme of visits around Dublin. A tour of Trinity College gave them a look at the famous campus, while a trip to Croke Park offered an insight into the importance of Gaelic games in Irish culture. The team also visited Newman’s Church and several other landmarks, taking time to learn about the city’s history and atmosphere.
