Oratory Drama trip to see ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’

This week, 34 of our GCSE and A Level Drama students headed to Oxford for a night at the theatre.
As part of their drama studies, students are required to watch live theatre and then review its effectiveness in the written exam.
The production we went to see was ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’ and it did not disappoint! With jump scares aplenty, students were hooked from the very beginning.
One student said “I thought this trip was a good representation of how the drama department brings multiple year groups together in unity, to watch such a well-produced play that kept me both engaged and on the edge of my seat with the Jump scares and great acting”.
Another added “I really enjoyed this trip. The set and the lighting were really cool and the stories of the characters were so interesting. I also loved the plot twist at the end, it was very surprising!”
Georgina Ring, Head of Oratory Drama, says "It was wonderful to hear the students talking so expertly about the set and lighting design, as well as analysing the excellent acting. There was such a strong sense of enjoyment from everyone who attended and our drama lessons for the foreseeable future will see us discussing our favourite moments, analysing the meaning, and practising the technique for writing about this show in the exam. My huge thanks to Miss Smith and Mr Muckalt for accompanying me on this trip."
