Oratory Racquets wins Real Tennis U16 National Schools Doubles Championship Title

The Oratory is delighted to announce that 5th Formers, A. Watson and N. McGarvey have won the Real Tennis U16s Nationals Schools Championship title this weekend at Radley College, the first ever National Doubles Championship title in the school’s history.

The tournament featured the best U16 pairs from across Canford School, Radley College, Wellington College and The Oratory. Watson and McGarvey performed strongly throughout the competition winning the final 6/2 against Radley College.

The Real Tennis National School Championships were held over 3 locations, The Queen’s Club London, Radley College and The Oratory School. Success came for The Oratory at all three locations with Oratory 6th Formers, J. Bradley and E. Milton runners-up in the U18 event at The Queen's Club in London and students W. Quinn, B. Butler and T. Cole all semi-finalists in their respective age groups.

Claire Fahey, Head of Oratory Racquets and the reigning Women’s Real Tennis World Champion says “Congratulation to Watson, McGarthy, Bradley and Milton. It has been fantastic to see the sport of Real Tennis grow at The Oratory over the last few years. To see our students performing so well at a national level is very encouraging for racket sports at the school.”
