Oratory Politics A Level Students attend the 2024 UK General Election Conference

Oratory Politics A Level students attended the 2024 UK General Election Online Conference run by Oxford High School on Monday 27 January.
The conference offered students the opportunity to analyse different aspects of the election alongside professors and politicians from all over the country.
Students looked at the role Opinion Polls play in influencing voters, the changing social factors that influence voters (including Brexit) and took part in a Q&A session with Conservative Peer Lord Hayward, who offered insights into the future of the Conservative Party.
The highlight of the day was BBC political commentator, and University of Strathclyde professor Sir John Curtice's talk on the Geography of the 2024 Election. It was fascinating to see the deviation across regions, and how much of an effect Reform had on the Conservative, and Liberal Democrat vote.
We are looking forward to another interesting Politics Conference in the coming weeks on the US 2024 Election.
