Career Support
Life after The Oratory School
Almost all pupils at The Oratory go on to higher education. Advice and guidance is readily available for our pupils, who are helped through the process by their tutor, as well as the rest of the 6th Form team.
Specialist assistance is provided for Oxbridge applicants and for those wanting to pursue Medicine and Veterinary Science. There is also guidance on careers, apprenticeships, and more vocational courses.
Studying at university demands a significant investment, both in personal and financial terms. We provide guidance to achieve smooth and successful applications to the institutions and courses to which our pupils aspire.

Careers support
At The Oratory we provide a wide range of support to pupils as they start to find out what they might do as a career and the choices they make for A Levels and higher education.
Pupils attend tailored activities aimed at drawing on their interests and aptitudes to identify career preferences.
A well-stocked Careers library provides a quiet and friendly place to research careers and courses.
Pupils in the 5th Form are supported to do work experience in the summer term and to undertake the extensive Morrisby testing and interview programme that provides personalised guidance for individual pupils. Morrisby provides a lifetime resource for guidance and help with careers decisions via an online account.
The Oratory careers fair is targeted at 5th and 6th Formers but all years are welcome. At the fair, pupils have an opportunity to engage with advisers from many professions, gap year programmes, and higher education. Throughout the year, speakers from many career backgrounds are invited to talk to the 6th Form
Oratory alumni also provide support as points of contact for advice on specific career paths, and actively support the careers fair, speakers programme, and work experience.
Thinking the Future
Thinking about the future begins early at The Oratory and pupils start to receive careers support when they make their GCSE choices.
One-to-one support from tutors and subject specialists throughout a structured Higher Education preparation programme ensures that our pupils apply to courses best suited to their individual strengths and aspirations.
Higher Education
Our aim is that Oratorians leave us ready to go out into the wider world. In support of this aim, we provide a structured higher education preparation programme to all pupils as they progress through the school.
